Google just finished holding its Searchology event in America, and as part of it, the search giant has just unveiled a host of new search options, which are live on the site right now. The biggest addition is simply called Google Search Options, and it’s a seriously powerful toolbar to fine tune your results. You can sort by video, forum and reviews, which picks out comments on a product, or by time, so you can find the latest blog posts on something.
Another new feature you’ll be able to take advantage of very soon is Google Squared, a Labs option that brings up data from a search in a spreadsheet. Search for “small dogs” and you’ll get reams of facts and figures about breeds, weight and even life expectancy.
Finally, remember the Google Wonder Wheel, the pretty little spider diagram showing you related search queries? It’s live, and will update in realtime on the page when you move from term to term. Test it out for yourself, just look for the “Show Options” label above your Google search results.
